1. Controller
Vili Virtanen (a private person). Privacy contact: peekdate.dev@gmail.com. Peek is a dating app for people aged 18 and over.
2. What we process
- Account data: your email address and password (stored only as a hash), or your Google or Apple sign-in identifier if you sign in with them.
- Profile data: name, date of birth, gender, who you want to see and whose searches you appear in, bio, interests, values, your answers to profile prompts, and anything else you add to your profile (e.g. an object photo, a drawing, "two truths and a lie").
- Photos: your named feature photos, your full photo, object photo and drawings, including drawings made in chat games.
- Location: your device's location, if you allow it. We store it with your profile and use it to calculate distances; other users see only a distance, never your location.
- Activity: likes and passes, matches, messages, chat-game answers, reveal choices and agreements, and read receipts.
- Safety data: blocks, and reports you make or that are made about you.
- Notifications: your device's push token and delivery receipts for notifications sent to it.
- Purchase data: if you buy Peek Premium, a record of the subscription — which plan, when it started, renewed or ended, whether it was a test purchase, and the store's transaction identifiers. We do not receive your card details.
- Technical data: server logs (e.g. IP address, app version, request times) kept for a limited time by our providers to run and secure the service. Your language setting.
3. Purposes and legal bases
- Providing the app — account, profile, matching, messaging, the gradual reveal, Premium: performance of the contract.
- Automatic photo checks, handling reports, preventing abuse and securing the service: legitimate interest (the safety of users).
- Location and push notifications: consent, given in your device's permission prompt and withdrawable in the device's settings.
- Your gender, who you want to see and whose searches you appear in can reveal your sexual orientation, a special category of personal data (GDPR Art. 9). We process them on the basis of your explicit consent, given when you fill them in, and only to show you to the right people and them to you. You can change them at any time and withdraw consent by deleting your account.
- We do not sell your data or use it for advertising.
4. Providers that process your data for us
- Supabase — our backend: sign-in, database, photo storage and server functions. Processes all of the data above.
- Sightengine — automatic photo checks. Every photo you upload is sent to Sightengine before it is stored, to detect inappropriate content. Sightengine uses the photos for this purpose only.
- Expo — push notification delivery. Expo receives your device's push token and the content of the notification, which includes the sender's name and the start of the message. Apple (APNs) or Google (FCM) deliver it to your device.
- RevenueCat — manages Peek Premium subscriptions. When you buy, restore or renew, the store's transaction information and your Peek account identifier are processed by RevenueCat, which tells us the subscription's status. RevenueCat also processes device and app identifiers (e.g. app version, operating system, country) and when the app is opened.
- Apple and Google — sell the Premium subscription and process the payment under their own privacy policies; and Sign in with Google or Apple, if you use them.
5. Other users, and how profiles are suggested
Other users see your profile in Discover and For You, and as a match as reveals progress. We suggest profiles based on your search settings (age, distance and who you want to see), and their order can depend on distance and on shared interests and values. We make no automated decisions about you with legal or similarly significant effects. A Premium user sees your name and favourite feature if you have liked them.
6. Transfers outside the EU
Our database and your photos are in the EU (Ireland). Expo processes push notifications in the United States under the EU–US Data Privacy Framework. RevenueCat processes subscription data in the United States under the European Commission's standard contractual clauses. Sightengine is a French company with some providers in the United States; those transfers rest on contractual safeguards. Apple and Google process data under their own policies.
7. How long we keep data
We keep your data while your account exists. Push delivery receipts are deleted once delivery is confirmed. Chat-game drawings are deleted within a day of the match ending. Reports are kept for at most 2 years, or longer while a matter they concern is still open. Deleted database data remains in daily backups for at most 7 days; photos are not in the backups.
8. Deleting your account
You can delete your account in Account settings. Deletion is permanent and removes your profile, all your photos, your matches and their messages (for the other person too), likes, passes, blocks, push tokens and receipts, your subscription record with us and your customer record at RevenueCat. One exception: reports are kept after an account is deleted, in both directions, including the name the reported person had when the report was made. Otherwise deleting an account would erase the complaints about it. We use them only for safety and handling abuse. Deleting your account does not cancel a Premium subscription; cancel it in the App Store or Google Play.
9. Your rights
You have the right to access your data, correct it, erase it, restrict or object to its processing, receive it in a portable format, and withdraw consent. You can review and correct most of it in the app and delete your account yourself. Other requests: peekdate.dev@gmail.com. We answer requests within one month. You can complain to the Finnish Data Protection Ombudsman (tietosuoja.fi) or to the supervisory authority where you live.
10. Changes
We may update this policy. We will tell you about material changes in the app.

2. Mitä tietoja käsittelemme
- Tilitiedot: sähköpostiosoite ja salasana (tallennetaan vain tiivisteenä), tai Google- tai Apple-kirjautumisen tunniste, jos kirjaudut niillä.
- Profiilitiedot: nimi, syntymäaika, sukupuoli, ketä haluat nähdä ja kenen haussa näyt, esittely, kiinnostukset, arvot, vastauksesi profiilin kysymyksiin ja muut profiiliisi lisäämäsi osat (esim. esinekuva, piirros, "kaksi totuutta ja valhe").
- Kuvat: nimeämäsi piirrekuvat, koko kuvasi, esinekuva ja piirrokset, mukaan lukien keskustelun piirrospeleissä tehdyt piirrokset.
- Sijainti: laitteesi sijainti, jos annat luvan. Tallennamme sen profiiliisi ja käytämme sitä etäisyyksien laskemiseen; muille käyttäjille näytetään vain etäisyys, ei sijaintiasi.
- Toiminta sovelluksessa: tykkäykset ja ohitukset, matchit, viestit, keskustelupelien vastaukset, paljastusvalinnat ja -hyväksynnät sekä lukukuittaukset.
- Turvallisuustiedot: estot sekä tekemäsi ja sinusta tehdyt ilmoitukset.
- Ilmoitukset: laitteesi push-tunniste ja lähetettyjen ilmoitusten toimituskuittaukset.
- Ostotiedot: jos ostat Peek Premiumin, tieto tilauksesta — mikä tilaus, milloin se alkoi, uusiutui tai päättyi, oliko se testiosto, sekä kaupan tapahtumatunnisteet. Emme saa maksukorttisi tietoja.
- Tekniset tiedot: palvelinlokit (esim. IP-osoite, sovelluksen versio, pyyntöjen ajankohdat), joita palveluntarjoajamme säilyttävät rajatun ajan palvelun toiminnan ja turvallisuuden vuoksi. Kielivalintasi.
3. Käyttötarkoitukset ja oikeusperusteet
- Sovelluksen tarjoaminen — tili, profiili, matchaaminen, viestit, vähittäinen paljastus, Premium: sopimuksen täytäntöönpano.
- Kuvien automaattinen tarkistus, ilmoitusten käsittely, väärinkäytösten estäminen ja palvelun turvallisuus: oikeutettu etu (käyttäjien turvallisuus).
- Sijainti ja push-ilmoitukset: suostumus, jonka annat laitteesi lupakyselyssä ja voit perua laitteen asetuksista.
- Sukupuolesi ja se, keitä haluat nähdä ja kenen haussa näyt, voivat kertoa seksuaalisesta suuntautumisestasi, joka on erityinen henkilötietoryhmä (GDPR 9 art.). Käsittelemme niitä nimenomaisella suostumuksellasi, jonka annat täyttäessäsi ne, ja vain sinun näyttämiseksesi oikeille ihmisille ja heidän näyttämisekseen sinulle. Voit muuttaa niitä milloin tahansa ja perua suostumuksesi poistamalla tilisi.
- Emme myy tietojasi emmekä käytä niitä mainontaan.
4. Palveluntarjoajat, jotka käsittelevät tietojasi puolestamme
- Supabase — taustapalvelu: kirjautuminen, tietokanta, kuvien tallennus ja palvelinfunktiot. Käsittelee kaikkia yllä mainittuja tietoja.
- Sightengine — kuvien automaattinen tarkistus. Jokainen lataamasi kuva lähetetään Sightenginelle ennen tallennusta sopimattoman sisällön havaitsemiseksi. Sightengine käyttää kuvia vain tähän.
- Expo — push-ilmoitusten välitys. Expo saa laitteesi push-tunnisteen ja ilmoituksen sisällön, johon kuuluu lähettäjän nimi ja viestin alku. Ilmoituksen toimittavat laitteellesi Apple (APNs) tai Google (FCM).
- RevenueCat — Peek Premium -tilausten hallinta. Kun ostat, palautat tai uusit tilauksen, kaupan tapahtumatiedot ja Peek-tilisi tunniste käsitellään RevenueCatissa, joka kertoo meille tilauksen tilan. RevenueCat käsittelee myös laite- ja sovellustunnisteita (esim. sovelluksen versio, käyttöjärjestelmä, maa) ja sovelluksen käyttökertoja.
- Apple ja Google — myyvät Premium-tilauksen ja käsittelevät maksun omien tietosuojakäytäntöjensä mukaan; lisäksi Google- ja Apple-kirjautuminen, jos käytät niitä.
5. Muut käyttäjät ja profiilien ehdottaminen
Muut käyttäjät näkevät profiilisi Löydä- ja Sinulle-näkymissä sekä matchina paljastusten edetessä. Ehdotamme profiileja hakuasetustesi perusteella (ikä, etäisyys ja ketä haluat nähdä), ja järjestykseen voivat vaikuttaa etäisyys sekä yhteiset kiinnostukset ja arvot. Emme tee sinusta automaattisia päätöksiä, joilla on oikeudellisia tai vastaavia vaikutuksia. Premium-käyttäjä näkee nimesi ja suosikkipiirteesi, jos olet tykännyt hänestä.
6. Tietojen siirto EU:n ulkopuolelle
Tietokantamme ja kuvasi ovat EU:ssa (Irlanti). Expo käsittelee push-ilmoituksia Yhdysvalloissa EU:n ja Yhdysvaltojen välisen tietosuojakehyksen (Data Privacy Framework) perusteella. RevenueCat käsittelee tilaustietoja Yhdysvalloissa Euroopan komission vakiosopimuslausekkeiden perusteella. Sightengine on ranskalainen yritys, jonka palveluntarjoajia on myös Yhdysvalloissa; siirrot perustuvat sopimuksellisiin suojatoimiin. Apple ja Google käsittelevät tietoja omien käytäntöjensä mukaisesti.
7. Säilytysajat
Säilytämme tietojasi niin kauan kuin tilisi on olemassa. Push-ilmoitusten toimituskuittaukset poistetaan, kun toimitus on varmistettu. Keskustelupelien piirrokset poistetaan päivän kuluessa siitä, kun match päättyy. Ilmoituksia säilytetään enintään 2 vuotta, tai pidempään, jos niihin liittyvä asia on kesken. Poistetut tietokantatiedot säilyvät päivittäisissä varmuuskopioissa enintään 7 päivää; kuvat eivät sisälly varmuuskopioihin.
8. Tilin poistaminen
Voit poistaa tilisi Tili-asetuksista. Poisto on pysyvä ja poistaa profiilisi, kaikki kuvasi, matchisi ja niiden viestit (myös toiselta osapuolelta), tykkäykset, ohitukset, estot, push-tunnisteet ja -kuittaukset, tilaustietosi meiltä sekä asiakastietosi RevenueCatista. Poikkeus: ilmoitukset säilyvät tilin poiston jälkeen molempiin suuntiin, myös nimi, joka ilmoitetulla oli ilmoitushetkellä. Muuten tilin poistaminen pyyhkisi siitä tehdyt valitukset. Käytämme niitä vain turvallisuuteen ja väärinkäytösten käsittelyyn. Tilin poisto ei peru Premium-tilausta; peru se App Storessa tai Google Playssa.
9. Oikeutesi
Sinulla on oikeus saada pääsy tietoihisi, oikaista ne, poistaa ne, rajoittaa tai vastustaa niiden käsittelyä, saada ne siirrettävässä muodossa ja perua suostumuksesi. Useimmat tiedot voit tarkastaa ja korjata suoraan sovelluksessa, ja poiston voit tehdä itse. Muut pyynnöt: peekdate.dev@gmail.com. Vastaamme pyyntöihin kuukauden kuluessa. Voit tehdä valituksen tietosuojavaltuutetulle (tietosuoja.fi).
